Terry Gilliam didn't waste a moment of Heath ledger's final performance in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus the filmmaker has revealed.
Ledger was in the middle of filming the movie, which reunited him with Gilliam, when he passed away from an accidental overdose. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law stepped into his role to complete the movie.
Speaking to the Press Association he said: "It was very difficult but somehow we got adrenaline going and everybody was so determined to make it work and we did it and it ended up in some ways a more extraordinary film because of that."
"The main thing is that it really works and that was what I was concerned about and I can say, hand on heart, that it's really good.
"I just didn't want to waste any moment of Heath in life or on screen and that's Parnassus."
However the film is struggling in getting a release deal in America with the rights to the movie having not yet been sold.
