Terminator Salvation has blasted to the top of the UK box office, despite facing a barrage of poor reviews.
The film seems to have weathered the storm, which saw it beaten to the number one spot in America by Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, to gross almost $7 million in it's opening weekend.
Terminator Salvation is the fourth movie in the Terminator franchise to hit the big screen and Christian Bale is in the lead role as John Connor.
But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row.
As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian's two week reign is over and it had to settle for the number two spot while Drag Me To Hell dropped one place to round off the top three.
Angels & Demons and Star Trek also fell one place a piece to four and five. But the top four movies all broke through the £1 million barrier in a good week for the box office.
There was only one other new entry inside the top ten and that was Last Chance Harvey, which sees Dusting Hoffman team up with Emma Thompson.
