Terminator Salvation has been met with poor reviews by the critics in the US.
The movie is the forth film in the Terminator franchise and is one of the most highly anticipated movies of this blockbuster summer.
Christian Bale takes on the role of John Connor, leader of the resistance against Skynet, and Schwarzenegger will only appear in digitally. There are already talks of a sequel, despite the film having not yet been released.
But despite the good cast the big budget movie seems to have missed the mark with the critics.
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times said that the blockbuster "raises many questions about the lines between man and machine. Raises them, and then leaves them levitating."
"It gives all the pleasure of a video game without the bother of having to play it".
Screen International's John Hazelton said that the film possesses "very little of the human drama - or humour - that gave the original films their broader appeal".
Terminator Salvation is released in the UK 3rd June.
