Ted has toppled The Dark Knight Rises at the top of the UK box office to take the #1 spot.

The move sees Seth MacFarlane in the director's chair while Mark Wahlberg stars alongside Mila Kunis in the movie.

The Dark Knight Rises fell just a single place to two this week but the movie has taken in excess of $40 million in the UK in the three week that it has been on release.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days was a new entry at number three while Ice Age: Continental Drift fell just a single place to four.

Dr Seuss' The Lorax fell three places this week as the animation movie rounded off the top five.

Brave was the third and final new entry inside the top ten at number six while The Amazing Spider Man fell outside of the top five as it was down at seven.

Magic Mike was also down three places at eight while Mirror Mirror shot back up into the top ten this week after eighteen weeks on the chart.

Searching for Sugar Man fell three places to round off the top ten.
