Taylor Lautner was bullied at school over his love for acting.
The star has catapulted to fame playing Jacob in the vampire verses werewolves film franchise, but he admits life was difficult as a drama nerd.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I was never extremely confident. Because I was an actor when I was in school there was a little bullying going on.
"Not physical bullying but people making fun of what I do.
"I just had to tell myself, 'I can't let this get to me. This is what love to do and I'm going to continue to do it.'"
However it's the teenager that is having the last laugh as he sits pretty at the top of the box office in the UK and U.S. as New Moon is one of the biggest movies of the year.
The film grossed $140 million in the U.S. alone and can boast the third biggest opening weekend of all time.
He will return to the Twilight Saga franchise next summer with the release of Eclipse, the third film in the series.
Away from the role of Jacob Black the actor will appear in Valentine's Day, which is also released next year, as part of the ensemble cast that includes Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel.
