Taken 2 has stormed to the top of the UK box office as it took £7.3 million to crush the competition.
The movie sees Liam Neeson return to the role of Bryan Mills and while the film has been struggling with the critics it has been a hit with cinema goers.
Despite Looper being one of the biggest critical hits of the year so far it was no match for Taken 2 and had to surrender the top spot after just one week at #1.
The sci-fi movie dropped just one place to two while horror movie Sinister was new at three.
It was all about the new entries at the top of the UK chart this week as The Perks of Being A Wallflower, which is an adaptation of the Stephen Chbosky novel was new at four.
ParaNorman dropped three places to number five while The Campaign suffered a two place drop at six.
Pixar's latest movie Brave was the first of two movies to climb up the chart this week as it was up two places at seven.
Resident Evil: Retribution was the week's biggest faller as it dropped five places from three to eight.
Untouchable was the second climber of the week as it was up a single place at number nine while Hope Springs rounded off the top ten.
