Sylvester Stallone says that the action genre is 'fading away'.
Stallone is back kicking ass this summer with Expendables 2, where is once again joined by an all star action cast.
Speaking to ET the actor/filmmaker said: "This genre unfortunately is becoming... let's just say it's fading away.
"You have the superheroes today which are possessed with all extraordinary powers; they can blink and a fireball comes out of there. It's great.
"And then you have a bunch of us which is just your basic male-pattern badness... Kind of like hands-on action."
However with Expendables 2 Stallone will not be directing as Simon West is in the chair this time around.
Stallone will reprise the role of Barney Ross while Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren are back while there are bigger roles for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
There are also some new faces on the cast this time around including Jean Claude Van Damme and Liam Hemsworth.
Stallone will also be reuniting with Schwarzenegger on another action flick The Tomb, which is currently being filmed.
Expendables 2 is released 17th August.
