Steven Spielberg has wrapped up his work on the adaptation of Tintin and has handed over the reigns to Peter Jackson.
After thirty two days on set Spielberg has now put The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn in the capable hands of the The Lord of the Rings filmmaker who will work on the movie's special effects for the next eighteen months at Weta in New Zealand.
Despite Jackson's input into the film it's believed that Spielberg will get a sole directing credit on a movie that was supposed to be the first film in a trilogy of pictures based on the famous cartoon series.
Jackson was expected to direct the second movie but Variety revealed that there is no script for a second movie and the project hasn't got the green light from Paramount and Sony.
However producer Kathleen Kennedy has told Digital Spy that there are no creative issues between the pair: "They are amazingly collaborative, even more so than Steven and George [Lucas were on the Indiana Jones films]."
The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn, starring Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, is scheduled for release in 2011.
