Steven Seagal is in talks to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez's new movie Machete.
The movie is a spin off of his 2007 movie Grindhouse, which he worked on with Quentin Tarantino in the double feature that included Planet Terror and Death Proof.
Representitives for the actor initially denied rumours Seagal was among the stars considered for roles in the film, which featured as a spoof trailer in the Grind House double bill, but now they're backtracking, telling MovieHole.net that their client will be a part of the ultra-violent movie if "conditions" work out.
Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez and Jonah Hill are also said to be in line for roles in Machete.
Grindhouse was released as a double feature in America but was met poorly by the critics and performed at the box office so much so that the two movies were released seperately in the UK.
Starring Danny Trejo, in his first lead role, Machete was orignally going to be released as an extra to the Planet Terror DVD but it now getting it's own theatrical release.
Also in the pipeline for Rodriguez is Sin City 2 as director and Red Sonja in a producing role.
