Steve Carell insists that he is not a movie star and it's his family that help keep him grounded.
The actor made his name with movies such as The 40 Year Old Virgin and hit TV show The Office but says he is just lucky that work comes his way.
Speaking to the New York Times Syndicate the actor said: "I don't think of myself as a movie star at all and I will never have attitude or pretense.
"I just feel lucky when scripts are sent my way, because I'm an actor and I love my job."
"My kids have seen some of my films and they either like them or not. Kids never have a middle ground. Of course my son wished I were one of those minion characters [in Despicable Me]. He said, 'They were much cooler than you in the movie'."
"We don't make a big deal about my job at home. They think I'm like any other dad who just goes off to work."
Carell is back in the big screen at the end of the summer with his new comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love - which also stars Ryan Gosling and Julianne Moore.
It is the first movie for Carell since Dinner for Schmucks.
Crazy, Stupid, Love is released 23rd September.
