Steve Carell has revealed that he was keen to star in Seeking A Friend for the End of the World becasue the script 'haunted' him.
The actor is back on the big screen this week as he teams up with Keira Knightley for the drama/comedy.
And Carell admits that he loved the emotion in Lorene Scafaria's script, she also directed the movie.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph the actore said: "I read the script and could not stop thinking about it. It haunted me.
"It was funny, sweet, emotionally intense at times, and a story that I hadn't seen,"
Seeking A Friend for the End of the World is the first movie for the funnyman since he lead the ensemble cast of Crazy Stupid Love last year.
But the actor has already completed work on Hope Springs, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and lent his voice to Despicable Me 2.
He is currently filming comedy The Way, Way Back which sees him star alongside Sam Rockwell and Toni Collette.
