Star Trek has rocketed to the top of the UK box office toppling fellow summer blockbuster X-men Origins: Wolverine.
J.J Abrams' rebooting of this much loved sci-fi franchise has grossed £5.9 million in it's opening weekend, which comfortably sees it in the number one spot.
In it's opening week the movie has grossed $122.2 million at the global box office, however it has still failed to make back it's $150 million budget and has performed a little below expectations outside America.
Stop motion animation movie Coraline was another new entry at number two grossing £2.4 million, adding to it's huge American success.
After a week at the top of the box office X-Men Origins: Wolverine had to settle for the number three spot, but still grossed a further £2.2 million.
