Multi-Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire has broken the $200 million barrier at the global box office according to Variety.
Danny Boyle's rage to riches story has grossed $217 million easily making back it's tiny $15 million budget.
The film, which almost went straight to DVD, has been the toast of the awards circuit and has been riding high on the wave of Oscar success as it returned to the top of the UK box office last week.
The film won eight out of it's ten nominations at last month's Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for Danny Boyle.
The Mumbai based movie has made stars of it's cast Dev Patel and Freida Pinto and Danny Boyle has been offered jobs on the new James Bond and My Fair Lady.
Azharuddin Mohammad Ismail and Rubina Ali, who played the child versions of the film's main characters in the film and returned to a heroes welcome after the film's Oscar success, have been offered acting roles in Indian film Kal Kis Ne Dekha.
