Simon Pegg has revealed that he initially met Steven Spielberg with the idea of working on the script of The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.
The actor was on the red carpet at the weekend for the UK premiere of the Steven Spielberg directed movie - in which Pegg plays one of the Thompson twins.
And Pegg reveals that he went to talk to the Oscar winner bout working on the script with Steven Moffat, Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright but Spielberg offered him a role in the movie.
Pegg has already enjoyed huge box office success this year with comedy Paul and that success looks set to continue he will be reprising the role of Benji Dunn in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
He is currently filming A Fantastic Fear of Everything and looks set to reprise the role of Scotty when production on a second Star Trek movie finally gets underway.
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn is released 26th October.
