Silver Linings Playbook was the big winner at the Satellite Awards as it won five prizes including Best Picture.
The movie is widely regarded as one of the major players ahead of the Oscars and so it proved last night as it saw off some tough competition.
The Best Picture category was one of the most hotly contested as Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Les Miserables, Skyfall, Moonrise Kingdom, The Sessions, Lincoln, Life of Pi and Zero Dark Thirty were all nominated.
Zero Dark Thirty had been winning gongs left, right and centre over the last couple of weeks but it just has to be content with Best Original Screenplay for Mark Boal.
As for Silver Linings Playbook the movie went on to win Best Actor and Best Actress for the central role of Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence while David O. Russell picked up Best Director.
Anne Hathaway showed that she is a major Oscar contender as she won Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables while Javier Bardem triumphed in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Skyfall.
Rise of the Guardians took Best Animation - seeing off the likes of Brave and Frankenweenie - while Chasing Ice won Best Documentary.
