Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he wants to take on grittier roles.
The actor shot to fame in blockbuster movies Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but admits it would be a dream to play The Catcher in the Rye's Holden Caulfield.
Speaking to FHM LaBeouf said: "I really like all that beatnik culture, I think it would be fun, just for my family, and the way that I was raised.
He added: "I don't know if I'm interested in the blockbuster whimsical stuff any more - I want to be a little ballsier; balls, blood and death, kind of thing...
"Not outrageously so, just something a little grittier, with a little more meat to chew on."
And the actor is back in the big screen later this year in Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, alongside Michael Douglas, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan.
And while the actor admits that he is not as interested in the blockbuster movie he will be returning to the Sam Witwicky in a third transformers movie.
There are also rumours of a possible fifth Indiana Jones picture.
