Shia LaBeouf says that he has no regrets starring in the Transformers franchise because the success of those movies have allowed him to work on projects like Lawless.
The actor is back on the big screen this week in the Prohibition era gangster movie that sees him join forces with Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman.
And the actor admits that the Lawless project is much closer to his 'own sensibility' that the big blockbuster projects but he doesn't regret his time on Transformers.
Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "Lawless is closer to my own sensibility but I've been working on things that you can't say 'no' to, because they're incredible opportunities, and help to make films like this possible.
"Had Transformers not been a success then I don't think Lawless would have happened. So every step is linked and I don't regret any of it."
Lawless is the first movie for LaBeouf since we saw him in the billion dollar success Transformers: Dark of the Moon last summer - the most successful movie in the franchise.
But Lawless is just one of a couple of projects that we will be seeing LaBeouf in as he has already completed work on The Company You Keep and The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
He is currently filming The Nymphomaniac with controversial director Lars Von Trier.
Lawless is released 7th September.
