Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is the number one movie at the UK box office after toppling Puss In Boots from the top spot.

The movie sees Robert Downey Jr and Jude law reprise their role of Holmes and Dr Watson while Guy Ritchie is back in the director's chair.

Second time around and Holmes is faced with his most challenging career of his career as he comes face to face with Professor Moriarty.

The movie took $3.8 million in it's opening weekend to comfortably take the top spot.

Alvin and the Chipmunks - Chip-Wrecked was the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week as it opened at number two.

Arthur Christmas was spreading further festive cheer this weekend as it was up one place to three.

Puss In Boots, which was last week's number one, was down three places to four while New Year's Even was down two at five.

Hugo and Happy Feet Two were both down two places as they finished the weekend at six and seven.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was another two place faller at eight - so was A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas at eight.

My Week With Marilyn rounded off the top ten after dropping three places from last week's number seven.
