Shawn Levy has hinted that a third Night At The Museum movie could be shot in Europe.

The action/comedy Night At The Museum hit the big screen for the first time back in 2006, making a massive $727 million at the global box office.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian was released last year, but didin't do as well taking $461 worldwide.

When promoting the second movie both Levy and Ben Stiller hinted that a third movie could be in the pipeline if they could find the right story.

In an interview with Digital Spy the filmmaker said: "Ben's kids and mine are pleading with us to make a third, but like the second we need to make sure we have a great story.

"The only hint I'll drop is I wouldn't be surprised if it left the US and came over here to Europe."

When probed if London's Natural History Museum could feature in a third film Levy wouldn't give anything away saying: "I'm saying nothing more, but I think that we're definitely feeling like maybe we go on the road with the third one."

And Levy currently sits at the top of the American box office with his latest comedy movie Date Night, which stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell.
