The big screen adaptation of the hit television show Sex and the City has powered it's way to the top of the UK box office toppling last week's number one Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.In it's opening five days the film grossed in excess of £5.5 million but failed to beat Indy's opening weekend of £12 million last week.Sex and the City catches up with the lives of New York writer Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her best friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Samantha (Kim Cattrall). Relationship-wise, Carrie is still with the Mr Big (Chris Noth) could a wedding finally be on the cards?Last week's number one Indiana Jones slipped to two, but still grossed over £5.5 million.
