Sex and the City 2 may have struggled at the U.S. box office but it has gone down a storm in Australia opening at number one.
The movie, which sees Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon return, ended the reign of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time as it grossed $7.7 million in it's opening weekend.
Prince of Persia fell a single place to number two while there was also a one place drop for Robin Hood, ending the week at number three.
Animal Kingdom is the second new entry inside the top ten as Guy Pierce returned to the big screen in the Australian crime thriller.
The movie follows the story of the story of seventeen year-old J (Josh) as he navigates his survival amongst an explosive criminal family and the detective who thinks he can save him.
There was a two place drop for The Kings of Mykonos: Wog Boy 2 and Iron Man 2 as they finished the week at number five and six.
But this week's biggest faller came in the form of The Back Up Plan which dropped three places from five to eight.
Legion rounded off the top ten, a third new entry.
