Sean William Scott wants to work on more edgy content.
The actor is best known for his role as Stifler in American Pie but now that he has formed his own production company admits that he wants to work on projects that have more 'substance'
Speaking to Yahoo he said: "We want to be able to do things that are a little subversive and something that a studio would be less willing to do.
"We want to do full-length features - something we can control and with the people we love. Right now, it's an economic climate where it's better to control your own projects.
"As I've gotten older, I've become attracted to things that have substance."
Scott founded Elephant Pictures with screenwriter Steve Conrad and the actor is moving into a producing role as he works with directors and actors on feature movies as well as shorts.
Scott was last seen on the big screen in Cop Out, in which he starred with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, and has plenty of acting roles in the pipeline.
He is currently filming an unknown comedy and has been linked to Hit Somebody.
