Saoirse Ronan has revealed that she will not be part of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.
The actress had been tipped for the role Itaril in the movie, which would have reunited her with her Lovely Bones filmmaker, but she admits that it is not to be.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy the actress said: I won't be able to do The Hobbit unfortunately.
"I would have been tied up for quite a long period of time and there's a lot of projects in the meantime that are also really interesting and I'd like to be a part of."
But Ronan returned to the big screen last week with action film Hanna, which saw her once again team up with atonement filmmaker Joe Wright.
It was the first movie for the actress since she starred in Peter Weir's The Way Back at the end of 2010.
She has already completed work on Violet & Daisy which also stars Danny Trejo and James Gandolfini.
