Saoirse Ronan has admitted that she found her kiss scene with Reece Ritchie in The Lovely Bones was awkward.
The actress takes on the central role of Susie Salmon in Peter Jackson's adaptation of Alice Sebold's popular novel The Lovely Bones.
Speaking to Teen Hollywood the actress said: "Yeah, [Reece Ritchie] is cute.
"At first, it was slightly weird, not even, because I was kissing him but I was kissing a dude that was like eight years older than me when I was thirteen.
"That doesn't matter when you are in your 20s, but when you are thirteen and he was twenty-whatever... it was a little weird at first but then it was fine and after the tenth time, you just get used to it."
Ronan shot to fame in Atonement and has seen her career steadily climb in recent years. In the pipeline for the actress are The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle and The Way Back alongside Colin Farrell.
The Lovely Bones is released 29th January.
