Sandra Bullock has revealed that she had wanted to spend longer away from acting than she actually did.
We haven't seen Bullock on the big screen since she picked up a Best Actress Oscar for The Blind Side last year - she has in that time adopted a child.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight the actress said: "It's true, I didn't want to go back."
However she will be back in the new year with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which teams her up with Tom Hanks, and she admits that this was a movie that she could not pass on.
"It was an opportunity as an actor that you hope you have and you're given it, as long as it was a great experience for me and my son at the same time, then it was an experience I wanted to take.
The movie is directed by Stephen Daldry and follows a young boy who searches New York for a lock that matches a left by his father who died on 9/11.
The actress has also set to star in Gravity - which will see her team up with George Clooney.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is released 3rd February
