Sam Worthington has revealed that getting a spray tan was the worst part of filming Clash of the Titans.

The actor takes on the role of Perseus in the remake of the 1981 movie and the 'pasty' Australian had to get in the tanning booth every morning before filming.

Speaking in London at the world premiere for the film the actor said: "The biggest challenge was getting a tan on - I'm quite pasty for an Australian so if I burn I peel, a bit like Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient, so I had to get tanned up every morning."

"I feel sorry for those ladies, they need to get paid danger money, not me. Standing every morning in a paper thong isn't my idea of a good breakfast."

Despite the success of the popular eighties movie Worthington admitted that he wasn't concerned that they were shooting a remake.

"It's nerve-wracking doing any film, seriously.

"We just saw the original and we thought, is it worth improving on. And we can do that now with visual effects."

Clash of the Titans is released 2nd April.
