Sam Worthington has admitted that he believes that the filmmaking process is a collaborative process between actor and director.
The Aussie actor is back on the big screen next month as he stars in Louis Leterrier remake Clash of the Titans.
Talking to Total Film the actor said: "I'm not a puppet. I'm not a pawn. I'm there to facilitate their vision and if they're painting a picture I'll give them as many colours as possible.
"But if they don't realise it's about collaboration we're going to end up with the colour of shit.
"Filmmaking has to be like that in my book. You need a good captain, otherwise the ship's not going anywhere - and Louis is a good captain. I don't want to feel like I'm wasting my time.
Worthington, who has enjoyed huge success with James Cameron's Avatar, takes on the role of Perseus in the film alongside Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arterton.
And the actor doesn't mince his words when it comes to describing the movie: "This isn't a history movie. This is a fucking rollicking, crazy all star bitch of a movie."
Clash of the Titans is released 2nd April.
