Sam Mendes could return for another Bond movie.
The Oscar winning director has steered Skyfall to box office glory over the last month as the film has become the most successful Bond movie of all time.
It has topped the U.S. and UK box office and has so far grossed in excess of $672 million worldwide.
Ever since the movie was released there has been questions as to whether Mendes would return to the franchise and writer Robert Wade hinted that that could well be the case.
Speaking at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, Wade said: "We're very happy to have done five Bond movies, I think we've gotten it to a good place.
"I know that John Logan (screenwriter) and Sam Mendes have come up with a plot for another one, which takes the pressure off because these films take up a lot of time."
At the festival Wade and fellow screenwriter Neal Purvis announced that they were leaving the Bond franchise after working on five movies.
Daniel Craig is expected to reprise the role of 007 for the next two Bond movies and a third collaboration with Mendes could well be on the horizon for the actor.
Skyfall is out now.
