Ryan Reynolds has hinted that his superhero movie Green Lantern will not focus on an origin story.
Reynolds takes on the lead role in that adaptation of the DC Comic character which will be directed by Casino Royale filmmaker Martin Campbell.
The movie follows a man is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe
In an interview with MTV the actor said: "I think you walk away from this first film, and the moments that you remember and the moments that mean so much to you, not unlike Iron Man, are the moments where the guy's not in the suit.
"It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a laboured origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act," he added.
"We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins."
And Reynolds seems to have caught the superhero bug after appearing in X-Men Origins:Wolverine back in May as Deadpool.
The character has been given a spin off movie which is currently in production.
