Russell Crowe has revealed that there's nowhere that he loves being more than on a movie set in the first few days of shooting.
The actor has become the latest actor to receive a star on the Walk of Fame and he admits that he still loves his job.
Speaking to Contactmusic outside the Kodak theatre the actor said: "There's no place I would rather be other than with my family than on a movie set, on a feature film, particularly in the first few days when that excitement and freshness is still there.
"A long time ago on a particularly arduous day on a movie set, covered in mud in the rain, Australian actor Brian Brown said to me, 'The best thing about our job mate, is that they always finish', and as much as I have had my moments on film sets over the years where that little fact has actually bought me some relief, the great irony is that the job may finish but the work continues on.
"I still occasionally get to speak to people on a sidewalk about a movie I made 20 years ago."
And Crowe will be back on the big screen next month as he takes on the role of Robin Hood in Ridley Scott's re-telling of the popular legend.
And the actor is first to admit that the movie is very different to ones that we have seen before. "There are no tights in this film. They weren't invented until quite a few hundred years after when the story takes place.
"We start our story in 1199. Tights don't come into play until the 1600s. I do apologize of those who will be disappointed that there are no tights."
Robin Hood is the first movie for Crowe since last summer's political thriller State of Play and sees him team up with Scott once more.
A second movie The Next Three Days, which sees him work alongside Paul Haggis, is also in post production.
Robin Hood is released 14th May.
