Romola Garai has heaped praise on her Glorious 39 director Stephen Poliakoff claiming that he has respect for actors.
The actress takes on the lead role in Poliakoff's Glorious 39, the director's first movie in over ten years.
In an interview with Digital Spy the actress said: "He's one of the few directors I've worked with who has a great love for actors."
"They're not the difficult tools, they enable him and help his creative process.
"Writer/directors are, for me, the most inspiring people to work for because they are the person on set that knows the answer to all the questions.
"They have the most invested in the project because they've been with it from conception."
The last couple of years have been a huge success for the actress after she shot to fame as Briony in Joe Wright's Atonement.
She has mixed TV and film in recent months as she took on the role of Emma Woodhouse in a BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma.
