Despite his last couple of films not doing well critically or commercially director Guy Ritchie is back on form as his new film RocknRolla tops the UK box office in it's opening weekend.Grossing just over £1.5 million RocknRolla, which brings together an impressive British cast of Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton and Tom Wilkinson, held off strong competition from musical Mamma Mia.Ritchie has gone back to his gangster/crime roots with the new film. When a Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal, millions of dollars are up for grabs, and all of London's criminal underworld wants in on the action, everyone from a dangerous crimelord to a sexy accountant, a corrupt politician and down-on-their-luck petty thieves collude and collide with one another in an effort to get rich quick.Grossing a further £1.4 million in the last week musical Mamma Mia held onto the number one spot as it enjoyed it's ninth week inside the top ten and has so far grossed just over £57 million in the UK alone.The Duchess was a second new entry inside the top three at number three and stars Keira Knightley as Georgiana, The Duchess of Devonshire, an icon of her time and known for her extravagant political and personal life.Last week's number one Step Brothers fall three places to number four while a third new entry Disaster Movie rounds off the top five.Bangkok Dangerous, which has just topped the US box office, was the only other new entry but could only managed number ten.1.
