Robert Pattinson has revealed that fans of Twilight ask the actor to bite him.
The actor shot to fame last year in the role of vampire Edward Cullen when Stephenie Meyer's popular novel was adapted for the big screen.
In Robert Pattinson: The Unauthorised Biography, he said: "There were girls who had scratched the side of their necks, so they were freshly bleeding when they came up to get a signature.
"They were like, 'We did this for you'. I didn't know what to say. 'Thank you, guys'?
"People ask me to bite them and want to touch my hair. I just don't want someone to have a needle and give me HIV and I don't want to be shot or stabbed."
He returns to the character that brought him fame this week as New Moon, the second film in the Twilight Saga, to make it to the big screen.
New Moon is released 20th November.
