Robert Downey Jr has left Aliens and Cowboys.
The actor was to re-team with is Iron Man director Jon Favreau for the latest comic book adaptation to hit the big screen in which aliens land in Arizona in the 19th century.
They plan on making everyone slaves until cowboys and Apache Indians joining forces to fight back.
Favreau is believed to still be directing the movie but a new leading man is now being cast. It’s believed that Downey Jr left the project due to scheduling issues.
Due to the success of his latest film Sherlock Holmes a sequel is believed to be in the pipeline very soon leading to a clash.
It’s going to be a busy year for Downey Jr, with Sherlock Holmes still doing well at the box office, iron Man is on the horizon for the summer.
The actor returns to the role as Tony Stark in the second outing for the super hero after the surprise mammoth success back in 2008.
Jon Favreau is also back in the director’s chair for the film with Gwyneth Paltrow also returning. Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell all join the cast.
Due Date is another project that Downey Jr is involved with this year.
