Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr has called Todd Phillips his soulmate.

The actor teams up with The Hangover filmmaker for Due Date, which is Phillips' first movie since the monster success of the comedy last summer.

Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "What happened was that I found my soulmate in the artistry of Todd Phillips.
He's a genius."

And while Downey Jr may have found his movie making soulmate it wasn't all plain sailing for the pair during the shoot.

"We would get together and have heated arguments. If we had taped them, you would have thought that we'd never speak to each other again."

Due Date is the second movie of the year for Downey Jr, who reprised the role of tony Stark in Iron Man 2 this summer.

Iron Man 2 grossed in excess of $621 million at the global box office, beating the $585 million the first movie took in 2008.

The actor is currently filming the second Sherlock Holmes movie with Guy Ritchie, a role he won a Golden Globe for earlier this year, and has The Avengers in the pipeline.

Due Date is released 5th November.
