Robert De Niro has revealed that he struggles with directing.
The actor was last seen behind the camera with The Good Shepherd but he admits that it's getting the project off the ground that is the most difficult job.
Speaking to the Associated Press the actor said: "They take a lot out of me. They're great to do, but just the way I did the two that I did and the ones that I would do, I say to myself, maybe I would do five altogether. So three more."
"It's an uphill battle... The creative part, that's difficult enough. But the fun stuff is all the other stuff that goes with it: people; the input from studios, and all the people who have to justify their jobs; and the money; and is this actor going to get more, or they're not right for it. All the other things.
"It's a lot you've got to field. A lot coming at you."
Away from directing there are plenty of De Niro projects on the way into cinemas as Machete, Stone and Little Fockers are all awaiting released.
The actor is currently filming The Killer Elite, which also stars Jason Statham and Clive Owen, which is due for release next year.
