Rob Marshall is reportedly the new director on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
It was revealed last week that the movie would begin shooting next spring and Johnny Depp was all set to revive the character Captain Jack Sparrow.
But there has been much speculation over whether Gore Verbinski, the man behind the first three movies, would return to the director's chair for the fourth film.
But Verbinski will not be returning opting instead to make computer game BioShock into a feature length movie.
Marshall's 2002 movie Chicago picked up Best Picture, as well as Marshall receiving a Best Director nomination for his work on the movie.
Since then he directed Memoirs of a Geisha and Tony Bennett: An American Classic for television.
His next movie sees him return to the musical with Nine, which stars Daniel Day Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard.
The film follows director Guido Contini as he struggles to balance his professional and personal lives, it's already surrounded in Oscar hype.
