Rob Kazinsky has thanked Peter Jackson for his support over his decision to leave The Hobbit.
It is believed that a health problem is the reason behind Kazinsky leaving production - in which he was due to play Fili.
And the former Eastenders actor had nothing but praise for Jackson and the rest of the team working on the movie.
Writing on Twitter he said: Thanks for all your support, Peter and team have been the most wonderful and supportive team to work for and it's with a truly sad heart that things have turned out this way," he wrote.
"The Hobbit will go on to be as great as i've seen and I will miss the family and friends that i've here, From every disaster i've tried to make an opportunity. "john d rokerfeller"(sic)"
The role of Fili will now be re-cast.
Martin Freeman is all set to play Bilbo Baggins in the film with Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood all returning.
The Hobbit: Part 1 is set for a 19th December 2012 release.
