Rihanna has described her character in Battleship is 'Badass.'
The singer takes on the role of Raikes as she makes her big screen acting debut in the Peter Berg directed project.
Speaking to The Times she said: "I was weapons trained in the cadets as a teenager. I march. I shoot. I do drill.
"My role in the film is to be the bad ass who knows how to handle the arms. Well, that's not really acting for me. I am a bad ass in real life."
The movie also stars Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgård and Taylor Kitsch and follows a fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.
Battleship is due for release next year.
