Ridley Scott has hinted that he has thought about a possible sequel to Prometheus and it could well be called Paradise.
Prometheus us enjoying box office and critical success since it hit the big screen a couple of weeks ago, it remains the #1 movie here in the UK.
And ever since the release of the movie and the ambiguous ending there has been plenty of talk about a second film.
And Scott admits that he always had further movies in mind when he made Prometheus.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter the filmmaker said: "From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel.
"I really don't want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to [Noomi Rapace's character Dr Elizabeth Shaw] saying, 'I don't want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from'."
"Because [the Engineers] are such aggressive f**kers, I always had it in there that the God-like creature that you will see actually is not so nice, and is certainly not God," Scott explained.
"I'd love to explore where [Dr Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there, because if it is paradise, paradise cannot be what you think it is. Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous."
Prometheus is the first movie project for Scott since the release of Robin Hood back in 2010 and he first foray into sci-fi in over thirty years.
And while he is considering a Prometheus sequel he has a couple of other projects in the pipeline including The Counselor and a possible Blade Runner project.
Prometheus is out now.
