Rhys Ifans has called his new role as Captain Hook as a childhood dream.
The actor is all set to play Peter Pan's nemesis in TV movie Neverland alongside Bob Hoskins and Anna Friel.
Speaking to the AP the actor said: "It's every boy's dream to play Captain Hook," he said. "We've all grown up with that myth and legend so big boots to fill but a lot of fun."
"I'm constantly suppressing a very wide smile. It's a great script, great director and the money ain't bad."
It's been a busy year for the actor who has found box office success with Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and critical success with Mr. Nice.
He has already completed work on Passion Play and Anonymous and is currently working on Neverland..
He is set to star in defining Moments with Sadie Frost as well as take on the role of The Lizard in the new Spiderman movie.
