Ray Winstone has admitted that he is always thrilled to work alongside actors that he has admired.
The British actor grew up watching movies such as Zulu and couldn't believe his luck when he got to work with Michael Cain in Last Orders back in 2001.
Speaking to FilmClub the actor said:"Before I got into the business I used to just enjoy watching films. I never believed I would be a film actor.
"It was films like Zulu, or watching Richard Burton, and then years later you find yourself working with people like Michael Caine and that gives you a thrill.
"And they turn out to be regular good guys, and it brings back those early days of watching them on screen."
Winstone has a busy year ahead of him with plenty of projects in the pipeline, having already enjoyed box office success with Edge of Darkness earlier this year.
He will next been seen in 13, an English remake of French movie 13 Tzameti, alongside Sam Riley and Mickey Rourke.
He has also filmed London Boulevard with Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell and has Tracker and The Sweeney on the horizon.
