Ray Winstone has revealed that he is a John Wayne fan.
The British star has heaped praise on Wayne, perhaps best known for his Westerns, and believes that he doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves.
In an interview with The Guardian he said: "I just love westerns. One of my favourite actors is John Wayne, probably one of the most underrated actors there's ever been. He's quite an incredible actor.
"He had this way of being a big man, a big tough man, but he can almost show a sadness on his face - very much in the way James Stewart was, and Henry Fonda, you know?
"But because they were known as classical actors they got the recognition, didn't they?"
And Winstone has a busy few months ahead of him as he is currently filming Hugo Cabret, his latest collaboration with martin Scorsese which also stars Chloe Moretz and ben Kingsley.
He has already completed work animation movie Rango, to which he has lent his voice, as well as having a string of projects in the pipeline including The Hot Potato and Cleo.
