Ralph Fiennes

Ralph Fiennes

Ralph Fiennes says he is too old to play James Bond.

The actor reveals that at one time the role of 007 would have 'appealed' to him but, at 49, he says he is too old for the part.

Speaking to the Daily Mail the actor said: "There was a time in my life when that would have appealed to me. But I'm a bit on the old side now."

However we will be seeing Fiennes in the new Bond movie Skyfall as he is set to star alongside Daniel Craig, who is back for his third outing as the super spy.

Filming on the movie, which is directed by Sam Mendes, is already underway and Fiennes will be joined on the cast list by Javier Bardem, Albert Finney and Naomie Harris while Judi Dench reprises the role of M.

But before that Fiennes will be making his directorial debut with Coriolanus, which is based on the Shakespeare play and in which he also stars.

He is also set to reprise the role of Hades in Wrath of the Titans later this year.

Skyfall is released 26th October.
