Rachel McAdams has admitted that it was nice to revisit the character of Irene Adler in the second Sherlock Holmes movie.
The actress is set to cameo in Sherlock Holmes 2: A Games Of Shadows - which sees Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law reprise the roles of Holmes and Watson.
In an interview with Collider the actress said: "I just have a small cameo in [Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows], but it was nice to revisit.
"It's why I've always thought I would like to do television. You get really intimate with your character."
"Often with film, I find that you're just really getting to know a person. They're just starting to sink in, and then you wrap the film.
"So, it was nice to get to bring her back and have time to meditate on her a bit more. I liked that exercise."
The actress will next be seen on the big screen in Midnight In Paris - directed by Woody Allen - which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week.
Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows is released 16th December.
