Quentin Tarantino is facing a lawsuit from a screenwriter who has accused the director of copying his idea for the Kill Bill movies.
Dannez Hunter alleges he sent a story to bosses at film company Miramax in 1999, about a fictional character named Ren.
The writer claims his idea was used by Tarantino in his two-part martial arts epic, which featured a character called O-Ren, played by Lucy Liu.
The legal documents, obtained by TMZ.com, claim Tarantino took the "concept/character name Ren" from Hunter's work.
Hunter also alleges he applied for a job at Miramax and was "never given a return phone call".
He has filed suit in California demanding royalty payments from the two films, amounting to more $1 million.
