Phillip Noyce
Phillip Noyce has praised the development of Angelina Jolie as an actress after they teamed up for a second time on new movie Salt.
Noyce worked with the Oscar winning actress back in 1999 on The Bone Collector and reunite on the big budget action thriller.
And while Jolie has become a superstar since Noyce worked with her last the filmmaker remarked on how she managed to keep her focus despite everything that goes on around her.
Speaking to Empire magazine Noyce said: Back then, she had the chops. But she was, in every other way, an ingénue, just starting, quite unsure of herself, just finding her performance levels on the screen.
"Now she’s a superstar and a personality with every move outside the house chronicled by dozens of photographers.
"But all that opposition to being focused has caused her to be extraordinarily focused. She comes to the set completely prepared.
"It’s never a case of ‘give me the script again, wait while I check that.’ She knows her lines, she knows how the scenes fit together - and on this film, that was often an accomplishment."
Salt is the first movie since she was Oscar nominated for Changeling and hr first action role since Timur Bekmambetov’s adaptation of Wanted.
Salt is released 20th August.
