Penelope Cruz said she was 'surprised and elated at receiving another Oscar nomination.
The actress found her self amongst the nominees in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Rob Marshall's musical Nine.
This nomination comes just twelve months after she walked away with the very same award for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Speaking to the People she said: "Rob Marshall is not only a genius but an absolute joy to work with.
"I woke up every morning excited to collaborate with this amazingly talented group of actors.
"Filming this movie was such a special experience and to be nominated for this role makes me so happy."
But Cruz faces tough competition in the Best Supporting Actress category with Mo'Nique, Vera Farmiga, Diane Kruger and Maggie Gyllenhaal all picking up nominations.
Mo'Nique has dominated the awards circuit, winning the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild, with her performance in Precious and she is the favourite to win.
The Academy Award winners will be announced 7th March.
