Pauline Collins has described Dustin Hoffman as one of the kindest directors that she has ever worked for.
The actress is back on the big screen in the new year in Quartet - which marks the directorial debut of Hoffman.
Both actor and director were in London last week to promote the movie at the BFI London Film Festival.
Speaking at the junket for the movie the actress said: "First of all Dustin is a dynamo and a darling - both of those things help to create the atmosphere of this film.
"He is one of the most inspiring and kindest directors that I have ever worked for because he understand how actors work because he is one. I found him really really easy to work with."
Collins is part of an all star cast that includes Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Billy Connolly and Michael Gambon and is an adaptation of the Ronald Harwood play.
Quartet is released 4th January.
