Paul WS Anderson has admitted that he wants to make Resident Evil: Afterlife the best movie in the franchise.
The director is back for a fourth instalment of Resident Evil, with Milla Jovovich reprising the role of Alice, and this time around the film will be in 3D.
Speaking to MTV the filmmaker said: "My intention was to make this like T2 was to The Terminator," he said. "It's the same franchise, but it's bigger and it's improved and it's making a large conceptual leap.
"In terms of me coming back as a director, 3D was a big part of that. Avatar was a big influence on us.
"The difference is Avatar is predominantly a 60% animated movie, and all I have is CG.
"But I can't tell you how beautiful this camera system makes movies look in 3D, and how much depth you get."
The first Resident Evil movie was released back in 2002, which Anderson directed. He has written and produced the following two movies.
But this time around he is back in the director's chair, as well as writing and producing.
